{"id":6174,"date":"2020-04-30T09:55:14","date_gmt":"2020-04-30T09:55:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/modeling-languages.com\/?p=6174"},"modified":"2020-04-30T10:02:44","modified_gmt":"2020-04-30T10:02:44","slug":"securemde-workshop-security-model-driven-engineering","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/modeling-languages.com\/securemde-workshop-security-model-driven-engineering\/","title":{"rendered":"SecureMDE : International Workshop on Security for (and by) Model-Driven Engineering"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are organizing the second edition of the SecureMDE workshop (see our first edition: <a href=\"https:\/\/modelia.github.io\/secure-mde-workshop\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SecureMDE 2018<\/a>),\u00a0 an international workshop on Security <strong>for<\/strong> and <strong>by<\/strong> Model-Driven Engineering. Co-located with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.modelsconference.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Models 2020 conference<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We believe there are at least <strong>two ways in which MDE and Security might be beneficially combined<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Using MDE to support the development of secure systems (e.g. our model-based <a href=\"https:\/\/modeling-languages.com\/analysis-of-java-ee-security-configurations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">analysis of Java EE security configurations<\/a> , the <a href=\"https:\/\/modeling-languages.com\/reverse-engineering-of-database-security-policies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reverse engineering of database security policies<\/a>, or the <a href=\"https:\/\/modeling-languages.com\/understanding-firewall-configurations-vendor-independent-access-control-security-model\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">analysis of firewall configurations<\/a>) and,<\/li>\n<li>Integrating security techniques in MDE (e.g. our <a href=\"https:\/\/modeling-languages.com\/automatic-model-views-security\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">security complaint model views<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/modeling-languages.com\/watermarking-models-intellectual-property\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">watermarking<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/modeling-languages.com\/need-intellectual-property-protection-modeling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">intellectual property of models<\/a>) to give support to new development scenarios such as collaborative and distributed modeling.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In this sense, SecureMDE 2020 will provide a forum for presenting and discussing a wide range of topics related to the interplay between MDE and Security. Indeed, <strong>MDE has succeeded to play a key role in many critical tasks related to ICT security<\/strong>. However, new domains such as Internet of Things, Cyber-physical systems, Systems of Systems, and Blockchain-based technologies stress the limitations of previous work and pose new challenges to current model-driven security techniques. Moreover, the increased adoption of <a href=\"https:\/\/modeling-languages.com\/collaborative-definition-of-dsls\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MDE in collaborative scenarios<\/a> highlights the need for security\u00a0<b>for<\/b>\u00a0MDE itself in order to deal with requirements such as confidentiality and integrity.<\/p>\n<p><b>The Second International Workshop on Security for and by Model-Driven Engineering<\/b>\u00a0seeks contributions that provide novel results, work-in-progress or experience results on the integration of security tools and techniques in MDE development.
