UMLtoDB (online service for the generation of SQL DDL scripts from UML models) is now ready for testing

The UMLtoDB service is now available. During this initial testing phase, the service is fully available at no cost (but feedback is expected!). Visit the service page for more information on why and how use the service, what elements are supported/generated, … The service (both its interface and the comments in the generated SQL DDL script) is available in English, Spanish and Catalan.

All major database vendors are supported: Oracle, MySQL, Postgresql, DB2, SQLServer, Firebird, Interbase. As an example of the MySQL generation, this would be the SQL script generated to create in a MySQL database the schema corresponding to target="_blank" /> this UML model (stored in this ArgoUML 0.24 XMI file ). Note that the input UML model is a simple class diagram, desginers do not need to use profiles or extensions to decorate the model, the generator uses “common sense” to decide the best way of generating the database schema.
