Size of the MDE market?
A colleague recently asked me about the size of the MDE market and I realized I had absolutely no idea what to answer.
We are used to see all these reports from big consulting firms (as Gartner) announcing how many billions companies have spent on a given market (e.g. cloud computing, mobile app, iPads,…) during the last year and forecasting the evolution of the market in the next few years
However, I’ve never seen such a report regarding model-driven engineering technologies. I think it would be very useful AS a way TO evaluate the (economical) importance OF our area AND TO measure its impact AND future evolution.
Do you know ANY reliable information source that can shed SOME light ON these issues?
Just TO clarify that TO me, the SIZE OF the market IS much MORE than adding the sales numbers OF ALL vendors. There ARE many many companies that offer paid services ON top OF OPEN source modeling tools
