Consortium of IT Software Quality – A SEI-OMG partnership

Según eWeek , “the Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute (SEI) and the Object Management Group (OMG) announced a partnership to sponsor the Consortium of IT Software Quality (CISQ)” .

Consortium of IT Software Quality – A SEI-OMG partnership

According to eWeek , “the Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute (SEI) and the Object Management Group (OMG) announced a partnership to sponsor the Consortium of IT Software Quality (CISQ)” .

It seems that they now believe that the CMMI is not enough to evaluate the software development capabilities of an organization. One of the main goals of the new consortium is to openly rate the quality of the systems organizations build and deliver using standard quality measures.

I wonder if the implication of the OMG in the consortium will increase the importance of following a model-based approach in an organization in order to receive a good evaluation according to this upcoming software quality standard. A first draft is expected by the end of 2010.
