USER FORUM TOPIC myQVT

I’m an biz/sys analyst. I just discovered that I’m actually doing QVT the whole day (in some way):

Q uery: I’m discovering rules, valid FOR the model. (Aspects, CONSTRAINTS, Checks, …)
V iew: I’m creating views on the world, that contribute to one overall model. (Workflow, Screenflow, Dataflow, …)
T ransformation: I need some glue to keep it all together consistently: the views among each other as well as the views with the queries.

Plainly put, this is the analysts view on Model Transformation … – is it?

USER FORUM TOPIC Open-source Web-based MDE Platform

Hi all,

I have used EMF/GMF/ATL for any MDE I have done to date. I love it because I can define a new DSL using ECore and a concrete syntax using GMF. ATL can then be used to transform from one syntax to another. Brilliant stuff with one problem – its all application based. I have a new problem but requires a web interface – anybody got any idea how I can achieve this.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks,
Mark

Textual UML in Visual Studio

Microsoft has released a code sample for Visual Studio Ultimate that allows you to define class, use cases and activity diagrams using simple textual descriptions. Still limited but for sure another interesting textual UML modeling approach to add to the list...
